Here is a simple referral system you can use immediately to start getting referrals for your business. It incorporates a very simple idea and strategy.
Step #1: As soon as you receive a new client or customer send them a thank you gift with a brief survey. Ask for their sincere feedback.
Step #2: A few days after you send them their gift call them up and ask them if they know of anybody who might be a good referral. You then tell them, if they delay at all, no problem, you’ll send over a quick memory jogger. If they can think of someone, that is great. And then ask them how they liked the gift.
Step #3: Send over a “memory” jogger template so they know would be a good referral. You can also ask for a testimonial at this point.
Make sure to always, always, always follow-up. Getting referrals is about establishing trust, and if there is a little bit of doubt in the relationship you have with your client, you will not get the referrals you need.
