Referral marketing systems work incredibly well, especially when linked to a special occasion such as a birthday, anniversary, or holiday. Here’s why:

Okay, so here is how this referral marketing system works: Say you own a restaurant. The average person, when he or she goes out to eat for his or her birthday takes an additional 3 people with him or her. Why not tell your customers and friends that they can give, courtesy of them, a free dinner (or whatever your business sells) as a gift to their friend/family member. Does that make sense? It is win-win for everyone involved. So, your client has the opportunity to give a gift without having to spend anything. They will get the credit…and you will get not only their repeat business, but the business of the person they give the gift to.

Yes! You read that right!
Just give out the attached card to your friends who are having a birthday (or really any special event) and they can get a FREE XYZ from us. Just make sure they bring someone with them!
Now, this referral marketing system can work in almost any business. You can give out a financial analysis review (financial planners) or an insurance / income protection review. Right now as I type this I am in a coffee shop and this system would work perfectly here. Here’s another twist on it (note, insert your specific information between the brackets):
Do you know someone who loves [coffee]?
Do you know someone that needs to be [cheered up]?
Do you know someone you need to say [thank you] to?

Simply give this [voucher/card] to a friend who is having a birthday, anniversary, who needs cheered up, or who simply needs to get out of the house, and we’ll take care of them on you.

Chiropractors, massage therapists, car detailing, etc. All of these can work with this referral marketing system. Really, any business can. Remember, you need to ask. How CAN I make this work in my business…not, “it won’t work for MY business!”
Now you just don’t have to put this referral marketing system at your check out. You can put it in other places, too. Perhaps in the bathroom above the urinals or on the back of the stall door (it may be tacky, but if it gets results I’d rather laugh on the way to the bank) or you can put it in a package that goes out with the person.
Okay, for those businesses such as insurance, law, or some type of high-end service that may have longer buying cycles you can give away a free report/guide that educates the prospect and then you can TEAM UP with one of the chiropractors, massage therapists, car detailing, etc.
