The difference between a referral and a lead.
Although this may seem simple, it is important to understand the difference between a lead and a referral.
A lead is when someone says, “Call this person because they are interested and mention my name.”
A referral is when someone calls you because he or she said I should talk to you.
Now I realize that this definition is different from everyone involved, but unless we define what a business referral is, we won’t know how to treat each person. Each person should be treated differently for each situation. It is important to understand the process, which we will cover tomorrow!
