Having credibility is essential in getting referrals whether it be in a local referral program or in your referral marketing.
To build credibility you need to display proof, results, and prestige. Part of this is implied, but part of it needs to be obvious. For example, can you show examples of your most successful clients? Can you get them to give you a testimonial? Do you have unique qualifications? Do you have standards you have created for your referral marketing programs?
Make sure to NOT sell apples to apples. Nobody wins that way. Create a category of one, so you are the ONLY person or company that does something unique and specific. This will help you get referrals. For example lets say you are in lawn care. Well, what can you do that nobody else offers? What about free window cleaning? Will that work? I don’t know. But that is just a simple idea.
Referral marketing and getting referrals depends on being deserving of getting referrals first and foremost.
